Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
JobGuard helps tradies answer their customers. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how we look after it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
Who this covers
- Tradies who sign up to JobGuard on this website.
- Customers of those tradies who chat with a JobGuard assistant on a tradie's website or by text message.
What we collect
From tradies: your name, business name, phone number, email address, trade, website, and the business details you give us to set up your assistant (such as prices, hours and the suburbs you cover).
From tradies' customers: the messages you send, and any details you choose to share, such as your name, phone number, job address, a description of the problem and photos.
Why we collect it
- To pass your enquiry on to the tradie you contacted, so they can call you back.
- To set up and run JobGuard for tradies who sign up, and to contact them about their account.
- To fix problems and improve how the assistant answers questions.
Who we share it with
Customer enquiries are shared only with the tradie you contacted. We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their marketing. We use trusted service providers to run JobGuard (for example, web hosting and text message delivery), who only use information to provide that service to us.
Photos
Photos sent through the chat are shrunk on your device before sending, which removes hidden details such as the location the photo was taken. They can only be viewed by the tradie you contacted, and by us when needed to run the service.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as the tradie's account is active, or until we're asked to delete them. Tradies can ask us to delete their customers' enquiries at any time.
Keeping it safe
Information is sent over a secure connection and stored on protected servers. Access to enquiries and photos is password protected.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can also ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and we'll stop.
